• In July 2000, I have started working as an Associate Professor in the Institute for Computer Science of the University of Giessen.
• From December 1998 to May 2000, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Information Science and Telecommunications of the University of Pittsburgh.
• 1996-1998: I was a visiting professor (substitute for the vacant full professorship for information systems) at the University of Hildesheim.
• 1997: I got the habilitation degree (postdoctoral teaching qualification including the "venia legendi" for computer science) from the University of Hannover.
• 1992-1996: I worked as `scientific assistant' (compares to assistant professor) in the insitute for computer science of the University of Hannover.
• 1992: I got the doctoral degree "with honors". My thesis was about `Defaults in Deductive Databases'.
• 1988-1992: I worked as a research assistant at the University of Dortmund and University of Hannover (supervised by Prof. Dr. Udo Lipeck).
• 1983-1988: I studied computer science at the Technical University of Braunschweig.
  My diploma thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. H.-D. Ehrich.
